Set I

The most important moment for Sorana Kirstea in the first set was the fact that our athlete did not manage to win a single point on serve until the score was 5-1 in favor of Kateryna.

Kerstya did not have the desired level from the very beginning in the first set, and the Czech’s returns were of high quality. Sinyakova was much more inspired in finding the winning shots, and the chosen angles gave Sorana a headache.

The end of the set brought two more breaks, one on each side, and the set went to the Czech 6-3 after 44 minutes.

Set II

On the third attempt, Sorana broke in the very first game of the second set, and the set started the way our athlete wanted.

In addition, errors against Kateryna multiplied and Sorana won to 3-0 with two breaks.

The difference remained after two breaks in a row: 4-1 in favor of Kirsty.

Unfortunately, there followed a stretch of the match where Sorana made a lot of mistakes and didn’t have the most inspired choices at important moments. Thus, we went from 4-1 to 4-4.

Kirstya lost another important chance to win the set with a score of 5-4 on her own serve. Thus, there were a total of 9 breaks in the set, after Sinyakova won the return and closed out the set (7-5) and the match after one hour and 48 minutes.
