Janku Guda, the economist-host of the show on Digi24, analyzes the new fiscal measures and is convinced that taxation will not modernize the state if it is not accompanied by a real reform of the social system, the too big and too well-paid apparatus. Romania has a much larger budget than Poland and half the population.

“For every lei cut from the public sector, eight lei are cut from the private sector. And it’s not even the taxes themselves that bother us, but the fact that we can’t see what we’re paying them for. We get nothing in return: only investments, some progress, we are not told what is happening with the money, there is no transparency in spending public money,” says Janku Huda.

“(…) health indicators, i.e. obesity, the incidence rate of cardiovascular diseases, put Romania as the sickest country in Europe. We invest in pain, that is, in delay, not in prevention. And the best prevention is sport,” says Huda.
