Sloane Stevens defeats Emiliana Arango at the WTA in Guadalajara

2017 US Open champion and 2018 Roland Garros finalist Stephens (38 WTA) was defeated by Arango (180 WTA) 6-1, 6-2. The game lasted only 62 minutes.

Emiliana (22 years old), who has faced numerous injuries throughout her career, already has the best rating in the WTA Live hierarchy (145th place), and in the 1/8 finals she will meet the American Taylor Townsend (101st WTA).

Also on Tuesday, Madison Keys (4th seed and US Open 2023 semi-finalist) was defeated in two sets by Emma Navarro (49 WTA).
