Genoa draw with champions Napoli

With Radu Dragushyn in the first 11 matches, Genoa drew 2-2 at home with Napoli, at the end of a match in which the home team could have even won.

The team coached by Alberto Gilardino played a near-perfect game, but failed to finish and let a big win slip through their fingers.

It was 1-0 at the break after Mattia Bani restored Mereta’s lead in the 40th minute.

In the second half, the match reached a dramatic scale. Mateo Retegui scored to make it 2-0 (56 mins) but Rudy Garcia’s inspired conversions had their say.

Coming on for Anguiss, Raspadori reduced the gap in the 76th minute, with the visitors scoring again, also through a second-half substitute.

Matteo Politano scored 2:2 (min. 84) and also set the final score.

Genoa collects 4 points and remains in 12th place, while Napoli rose to fifth position with 7 points.
