In an interview with Ziua de Constanța, the two-time Grand Slam winner said she was shocked by the verdict, but remains confident that she will be able to prove her innocence.

“You can say I’m shocked. What is happening is a great injustice. I have never taken doping and I have absolutely never used doping. All this will come out someday. I’ll let the experts discuss absolutely everything because they know best what happened.

I am convinced that one day I will prove that I am innocent and pure. Everything that happened was unfair in every way.

I am very disappointed and shocked that you can only judge an athlete based on assumptions, nothing concrete. All my blood tests were negative and absolutely no banned substances were detected. In the urine only on the 29th, when a tiny amount of Roxadustat came out and that was it.
