Two teams played two matches each. The “tricolors” coached by Ion Marin won the first game with a score of 2-0 (Florea ’45+3, Preda ’90), but suffered a clear defeat in the second.
The match was held at the Buftia National Football Center, and Moldova opened the scoring with Chabaan (’14). Romania led the score (Pekuraru ’36, Kodor ’72), but conceded three goals at the end of the game (Antonchuk ’73, ’76, Perchun ’81).
These were the first training matches for the generation that will represent Romania at the European U19 Championship in 2025, where our country qualifies directly from the position of the host country, FRF writes.
