>> Euro-2024, preliminary matches – Edi Yordenescu announced the squad for the matches with Israel and Kosovo: Yanis Hagi is on the list

Edi Yordenescu called up Yanis Hagi because he is 100% fit and because he can make a difference

One of the questions was inevitably about Janis Hagi’s challenge. The coach says he made the right decision and that Alaves’ new player can make an impact in important matches for the tricolors.

“When I made the selection, I paid a lot of attention to the history of each player. Janis Hagi is 100% healthy, he has made the step to Primera (not La Liga), I have information that he is highly trusted and he will be an important player for his club team and I am betting a lot on his spirit and his fighting ability.” – Edi Jordanescu.

The match with Israel is very important, but not decisive

Before the match with Israel (Saturday, September 9, from 21:45), Edi called the match very important in the selection for Euro-2024, but not decisive.

“We have an important moment ahead of us, a beautiful moment at the same time, a moment for which we have worked, but we are still far from our goal because we have important matches ahead of us and many points at stake.

From our point of view, this is a very important game, a key game, but not a decisive one. I really need the right mentality for this game, let’s be ready from all angles.

I want joy, excitement, I don’t want to see closure under any circumstances, I like to think I’ve learned from history too. I wish more than ever that the team is clear in their decisions and that the stakes in this game do not lead us to a situation where our decisions are clouded.

We have a new debt to ourselves, we have a debt to the fans of the national team, to public opinion, so that after many years we managed to take a step towards the long-awaited qualification” – Edi Jordanescuat the press conference.

Romanian football is in a difficult period, but the national team is on the right track

Speaking about the fact that no Super League team made it to the group stage of the European Cups, Edi Iordenescu admitted that it is a difficult period, but the national football team is on the right track.

“I have a lot of faith in this group of players, both individually and collectively. There are guys who give themselves much more to the service of the team. I know this group can do more.

The national team gave a signal that it has the ability to fight, not to give up, to unite. And the audience responded in kind. I have information that he will play with a closed house. I strongly believe in this qualification.

Expect us to prepare the game to win. I am convinced that the national team can become a locomotive for all Romanian football”, – Edi Jordanescu.
