Sergio Ramos returns to Sevilla after 18 years

Sergio Ramos is out of contract this summer after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain, and the former Spain international has been targeted by both Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Despite having significant salary offers on the table, Ramos decided to return to Sevilla, the team that launched him into professional football.

It’s been 18 years since Ramos left Sevilla for Real Madrid and on Monday the Spanish defender was officially introduced to La Liga.

“Today is a very special, emotional day for me. I am finally coming home and I am looking forward to this moment.

I will once again feel what it is like to put on a Sevilla shirt and wear this emblem on my chest. It’s been 18 years since I left, I’ve made a lot of mistakes and I’m taking this moment to apologize to the fans of the team who were offended by my words and gestures.

I think we are all in the same boat, in the same family. I want to tell you that I am a different player, I am here to give everything and move in the same direction.” – said Sergio Ramos.
