The last season in which our country did not have a qualified team in UEFA competition groups was 2018/2019.

Romania (23rd place) is the only country that does not have a qualified team in the groups of the European Cups from the TOP-30 in the ranking of UEFA coefficients. Russia (26th place) is also in this situation, but teams from this country are excluded from UEFA competitions.

Other countries without qualified teams in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League groups: Ireland (32nd), Armenia (35th), Latvia (36th), Liechtenstein (38th), Northern Ireland (42nd), Luxembourg (43rd place), Lithuania (44th), Malta (45th), Georgia (46th), Albania (47th), Estonia (48th), Belarus (49th), North Macedonia (50th), Wales (52nd), Gibraltar (54th) ), San Marino (55).

Instead, teams from countries such as Cyprus (24th place), Bulgaria (27th), Slovakia (28th), Azerbaijan (29th), Moldova (30th), Slovenia (31st), Kosovo (33rd), Kazakhstan (34th), Faroe Islands (39) or Bosnia and Herzegovina (41).

It will be increasingly difficult for teams from Romania to qualify for the group stage, given that our country will likely drop even further in the coefficient rankings.
