Organizers of the US Open have announced the schedule for Thursday, August 31, in which Patricia Sieg and Jessica Pegula will play a match at Arthur Ashe Arena, the largest arena in the Flushing Meadows complex.

Ranked 700th in the WTA rankings, Sieg took advantage of the protected ranking rule to enter the 2023 US Open, and in the first round she defeated Canada’s Rebecca Marino, score 7-6(6), 7-6(1).

In the second round, Patricia will meet the best player from the USA, Jessica Pegula (ranked 3 in the world), and the match of the American woman was scheduled at the famous Arthur Ashe Arena.

Andy Murray – Grigor Dimitrov and Madison Keys – Yanina Wickmayer will play in the day session, and Carlos Alcaraz – Lloyd Harris and Patricia Sig – Jessica Pegula in the evening session.

• By qualifying for the second round, Sig received 70 world ranking points and a check for $123,000. The Romanian ranks 448th in the WTA Live ranking.

• Patricia also reached the second round at Flashing Meadows in the 2020 edition.
