Janis Hagi: “I wear number 10 and I have to create, pass and shoot”

The 24-year-old will play for the team in La Liga, Spain’s top football league, until the end of the season.

“I want to thank the people at the club and my agents who made the transfer possible. I am very happy to be here. My dream has always been to play in La Liga and Alaves gave me that opportunity.

I spoke to former Alaves players, I spoke to Adrien Ilie, who is a good friend of my father and my family. It was a good decision for us. Many talented footballers played here in Alaves.

I think any forward position suits me. But I’ll play wherever I’m asked and I’ll give it my all. It’s a responsibility for me and a pressure that my father played in La Liga.

Physically, I feel very well. I wear number 10 and I have to create, pass and shoot. These are my expectations” – Janis Hagi.

The Romanian international joined Glasgow Rangers in 2020 after spells at Vitorul Constanta, Fiorentina and Genk and is valued at €4m by Transfermarkt.

In 99 matches spent in the shirt of the Scottish group, Janis Hagi scored 16 goals and provided 21 decisive assists. He became the champion of Scotland in the 2020/21 season.
