Barcelona have to follow pretty strict rules to be able to register new players in La Liga, but the Catalans have found a solution and are set to sign Manchester City’s best player.
Barcelona and Manchester City agreed on the loan of Joao Cancelo
Barcelona spent just over 3 million euros in this transfer window.
The Catalans have signed just three players this summer, but have made a serious move to sign the Manchester City international, second only to Ilkay Gundogan.
The German midfielder arrived for free from Manchester City, along with Inigo Martinez (for free from Athletic Bilbao) and Oriol Romeu (from Girona for €3.4 million).
Now Barcelona are ready to take another step and bring in another player from Manchester City.
In particular, the champion of Spain agreed with the winner of the Champions League on the loan of the Portuguese Joao Cancelo, a footballer who also played on loan at Bayern Munich last season.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, both parties are reviewing the documents and the player will be given the green light to travel for a medical.
