The Dutchman covered 72 laps in 2:24:04, and the podium was completed by Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Gasly Pierre (Alpine).
Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez finished fourth, followed by Carlos Sainz Jr. (Ferrari).
As in qualifying, Logan Sargeant (Williams) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) crashed on laps 15 and 41 respectively and were unable to continue the race.
Zhou Guanyu (Alfa Romeo) was also injured on lap 62 after it started to rain, the organizers activated the red flag and the race was interrupted due to weather conditions and restarted after the weather stabilized.
