After the final of the World Championship, Olga Carmona learned that her father had died

This was reported by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The captain of the Iberia national team, Carmona, scored in the 29th minute.

“RFEF reports with deep regret the death of Olga Karmona’s father. The football player learned the sad news after the final of the World Cup. We sincerely hug Olga and her family in a moment of deep pain. We love you, Olga, you are the history of Spanish football” – RFEF in social networks.

An RFEF spokesman told Reuters that Carmona’s father had been battling a long illness and died on Friday. According to the Spanish media Relevo, Olga’s family and friends decided not to tell about it so that she could focus on the most important match of her life.

“I know that you gave me the strength to achieve something unique. I know you watched me tonight and are proud of me. Rest in peace dad,” Carmona wrote on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Carmona’s mother and brothers went to New Zealand during the World Cup group stage, but then hurried back to Spain. They arrived in Australia on Saturday to support the Real Madrid player in the final, writes News.ro.
