After overcoming Lin Zhu in the first round, Sorana Kirstya (31 WTA) stopped in the second round of the tournament in Montreal.

The athlete from Romania was defeated in straight sets by Karolina Muchova (17 WTA) after a dispute that ended in one hour and 49 minutes.

Sorana led for most of the first set, but this year’s Roland Garros finalist came back to win the first act.

In the second set, the scenario was the same. Kerstya led 4-3, but the player from the Czech Republic came back and qualified.

Karolina Mukhova will face the main favorite of the tournament Iga Svyatek in the round of 16.

Thanks to the trip to Montreal, Sorana will receive a check for $17,930 and 60 points in the WTA singles ranking.
