Iga Svyatek, the main favorite of the tournament in Montreal, made it to the 1/8 finals.

The world leader defeated Karolina Pliskova (23 WTA) in two sets after a match that lasted one hour and 50 minutes.

The match was quite fierce in the first set, which required a tie-break, but in the second act, Iga lost only two games.

In the 1/8 finals, Iga Sviatek will meet the winner of the duel between Sorana Kirstea (31 WTA) and Karolina Mukhova (17 WTA).

The Banque Nationale Omnium presented by Rogers will take place this year in Montreal from August 7 to 13, is part of the WTA 1000 category and offers $2,788,468 in prize money. Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula became untitled doubles champions.
