Octavian Popescu, Compagno and Nguezana will not be in the FCSB squad for the match against Craiova 1948

The first match of the season will take FCSB to Tirgu Giu for a match against FC U Craiova 1948.

The red-blues will not be able to count on Octavian Popescu, disqualified for the red card received in the last stage of the playoffs in the match against Rapid, but also Andrea Compagno, who came from the Oltei formation.

At the pre-match press conference, coach Elias Charalambous announced that defender Siyabonga Ngezana will also not be in the squad as he is lagging behind in training.

“We are motivated, the players are motivated to start the championship and I think we have had a good pre-season. The players have been working hard and can’t wait for the first match tomorrow.

Compared to last season, we have brought in new players. We did not make many transfers, most of the players are from last year. And for me it is important, that all the important players remained in the team.

Everyone can play tomorrow except Ngenzana. He will not be in the team tomorrow, he still needs to adapt. I think he will be part of the group from next week.

Compagno will not be in the lineup either. He is a very good player, he scored a lot of goals last season, but we have to rely on the players who are available for tomorrow’s game. I think we have footballers who can replace him.

Octavian Popescu will also not be in the squad, he is disqualified.” – said Elias Charalambousaccording to VSP.

FCSB and Kraiova 1948 will meet on Sunday at 21:30 at the Tirgu Jiu stadium.
