Svitolina, who became an All England Club semi-finalist for the second time in her career, said the war has made her stronger and says she is fighting to give her countrymen a reason to be happy.
“I think the war made me stronger. Mentally, I no longer perceive difficult situations as catastrophes. There are worse things in life. I’m just calmer.
Since I just got back, I think I feel a different pressure as well. I want to win, I have a huge motivation to get back to the top. The fact that I have a child and the war have made me a different person.
