
CFR Cluj announced the transfer of defender Arlind Ayeti, who participated in the Albania national team at the 2016 European Championship and was recognized as the best player in the match against Romania (a 1-0 defeat by the tricolor).

The 29-year-old central defender was born in Basel and also holds Swiss citizenship.

Ayeti plays for Albania’s first national team, a team for which he was capped 21 times and with whom he participated in the 2016 European Championship. Ayeti was recognized as the “player of the match” in the last game of the “three colors” at the European Championship – Romania – Albania 0:1.

Arlind also played for Concordia Basel II, FC Basel, Frosinone, AC Torino, Crotone, Grasshopers, Vejle BK, Reggiana, Padova and Pordenone.
The defender won four titles and the Swiss Cup with FC Basel, with whom he played in the Champions League and Europa League.
