Cristiano Bergodi, the new coach of Rapid

In the last 14 months, Cristiano Bergodi has won three trophies with Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe: two Romanian Cups and a Romanian Super Cup.

“Dear rapidists. Of course, it is extremely unpleasant to be put in the position of changing the coach a week before the start of the championship. Fortunately, the perfect solution is available.

Mr. Cristiano Bergodi is ready and told me that he is honored to be the coach of Rapid again. We all at the club liked the attacking style of the teams he coached. And not only! I appreciated his poised attitude as well as his elegant and competent speech.

It’s a sense of confidence and seriousness that he conveys, a feeling that the team desperately needs. Tomorrow we are waiting for Mr. Bergodi to initial the contract with Rapid and let him go to work” – Dan Sukuthe majority shareholder of Rapid.

Bergodi, a former Lazio great, led Rapid to their last major trophy: the 2007 Romanian Super Cup.

The Italian coach replaced Adrian Muta in Rapid, who is likely to sign a contract with Neftchi Baku (Azerbaijan).
