IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will defend his world championship titles against Briton Daniel Dubois. The match will take place on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland, Reuters reports.
Oleksandr Usyk will defend his world title against Daniel Dubois
The Ukrainian boxer negotiated with Tyson Fury (WBC world champion) about the unification title, but no agreement was reached regarding the scholarships of the two champions.
25-year-old Dubois is the WBA champion (regular) and the mandatory challenger for Usyk (36 years old, WBA – Super champion).
The Ukrainian did not lose in 20 fights, 13 of which he won by knockout, and Dubois has 19 wins and one loss.
Having moved from light heavyweight to heavyweight, Usyk won the world championship titles after defeating the British Anthony Joshua in September 2021, and then in a rematch in August 2022 by split decision, writes Agerpres.
