Several cyclists in the Tour de France were wedged by nails on the road at the end of the second stage on Sunday in San Sebastian, Spain, Reuters reported.
French cyclist Lilian Calmejean posted a video on Twitter with several nails in his tire.
“I don’t think I was the only one who got a puncture at the end. Know that we can fall and get hurt because of your bullshit, you morons” – Lilian Calmejan.
Philippe Modui (sporting director of Groupama-FDJ) and the representative of Lotto Dstny said that the riders of the two teams had problems because of the spikes.
In 2012, dozens of riders experienced something similar after climbing the Mur de Pegure during the 14th stage to Foix after nails were thrown into the road.
