Lucia Bronzetti defeated by Kateryna Siniakova in the WTA finals in Bad Homburg

Qualified for the final after Iga Sviatek announced her defeat before the semi-final match, Lucia Bronzetti was unlucky in the last act.

Kateryna Sinyakova (52 WTA) got off to a great start, leading 3-1 and 4-1 in the first set, which she won without much trouble.

The second set, however, was more intense. The player from the Czech Republic started well again and led the score 5-2.

However, Bronzetti bounced back with three straight wins. Having reached a tiebreak, the set ended with the victory of Kateryna Sinyakova with a score of 7-5 after three missed match points.

The match lasted one hour and 38 minutes, and Siniakova’s track record includes a tournament trophy, which she lost in a losing final in 2021.

The Bad Homburg Open is the third edition of the WTA 250 grass court. The first two were won by Angelique Kerber (2021) and Caroline Garcia (2022).
