Karolina Pliskova and Beatrice Haddad Maia were eliminated in the 1/8 finals of WTA Eastbourne
The 2017 and 2019 Eastbourne champion Pliskova (18 WTA) won the first set of her match against Daria Kasatkina 6-3 but lost the next 6-3, 6-3. The match lasted two hours.
Kasatkina (11 WTA, favorite 9) will play in the quarters against the winner of the match between Ana Bohdan (61 WTA) and Caroline Garcia (5 WTA, favorite 2).
Over the past three seasons, Daria has qualified for the quarterfinals in five grass court tournaments – she is the only WTA player to do so.
Daria Kasatkina’s big victory!
She claimed just her second top 20 win of 2023, defeating two-time champion Karolina Pliskova 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals in Eastbourne.
