FCSB announced on Tuesday the transfer of Croatian Damian Djokovic, a midfielder who won four Romanian league titles with CFR Cluj.

Djokovic signed a contract for one season with the possibility of an extension for another year.

“The 33-year-old Croatian midfielder will wear the number 88 and join his new team-mates in a training camp in the Netherlands, which starts on Tuesday 27 June.

Damian Djokovic was born on April 18, 1990 in Zagreb. He started playing football in the Netherlands, where he trained in the clubs ADO Den Haag, Excelsior Rotterdam and Sparta Rotterdam.

At the age of 19, he came to Slovakia, to “Spartak” from Trnava, and in early 2011 he signed a contract with the “Monza” club, which then sold him to “Cesena”. He was transferred to Bologna, a club that loaned him out for one season in the summer of 2013 to CFR Cluj.

He also played for Livorno, Gazelle Ajaccio, Greuther Furth, Spezia Calcio and HNK Rijeka, and in September 2017 he returned to CFR Cluj, with whom he won 4 league titles (2018, 2019 , 2020, 2021) and the Romanian Super Cup. (2019).

At the beginning of 2021, he transferred to the club “Rizespor”, for which he belonged until the summer of 2022 (from February 2022 to June 30, 2022, he was loaned to “Adani Demirspor”). In the 2022-2023 season, he played in 30 matches and scored two goals for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Raed, writes FCSB.
