Laurentiu Regekampf has ended his adventure in Azerbaijan on the bench of Neftchi Baku after a year, the club announced today that his contract has been terminated.

The Romanian coach has been on the Azerbaijani bench since June 2022 and took the last place on the podium, 22 points behind the champion “Karabakh”, played in the Cup final and qualified the team in the Conference League.
“By the decision of the Neftci board of directors, the contracts of the team’s head coach Laurentiu Regekampf, his assistants Viorel Dinu and Nicolae Grigore, physical trainer Bohdan Kornel Merisanu and goalkeeping coach Florin Tene were terminated by mutual consent of the parties.
We thank the coach and his staff for their work and wish them success in their future work. The public will be informed about the new head coach,” the club from Azerbaijan reported.
Regekampf played 45 matches on the bench of Neftchi Baku and scored 24 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses.
