The athlete from Latvia is competing at the tournament in Birmingham, where she reached the second round after defeating Linda Noskova in the opening round with a score of 6-2, 5-7, 6-1. Known for her frequent “parliamentary” moments on the field, Olena Ostapenko again became the protagonist of a memorable moment.

At 5-6 in the second set, the Latvian made an unforced error, but declared that her ball was on the court. Chief umpire Julie Kendley created a moment that will surely remain in the memory of tennis fans.

Immediately after Olena Ostapenko appealed this decision, the referee from Norway gave her a hint with his finger that the ball was out.
