The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee officially presented 150 athletes who will be part of the Romanian Olympic team at the European Games in Poland.

Romania will compete in 18 sports at the European Games in Poland

According to COSR, this is the largest delegation of the Romanian team present at the European Games, 150 athletes (74 women and 76 men). At the first stage of the competition, at JE Baku 2015, the delegation of the Romanian team included 147 athletes, and at JE Minsk 2019 – 123 athletes, News.ro reports.

The tricolors will compete in 18 sports out of 29 in the program of multi-sport competitions in Kraków Malopolska.

The flag bearers at the opening ceremony will be Bianca Gelber, 2022 European Hammer Throw Champion, and Katalin Cirila, 2022 World and European Canoe Champion.

During the celebrations in Izvorani, Cătălin Chirilă took the athletes’ oath and Olimpiu Marin took the coaches’ oath.

Mihai Kovaliu, President of COSR together with George Boroi, Secretary General of COSR and Vice President Elisabetta Lipe, together with members of the Executive Committee of COSR and presidents of federations cheered the athletes.
