Max Verstappen is satisfied with everything he has achieved in Formula 1

In an interview with The Sunday Times (and quoted by Marca), Verstappen admits that he has already done almost everything he dreamed of in Formula 1 (fulfilled many of his wishes), and then comments on the rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.

“When I started working in Formula 1, I had a big concern – I didn’t know if I would have a single-seater car in which I could prove what I was capable of. Fortunately, I found myself in such a situation. And if everything falls apart now, nothing will happen, and that’s because I’ve already done everything I wanted to in Formula 1.

I’m already calm because I won my first world championship title, then I got the second one. So for me at this stage in my career, I’ve already won everything I could win in F1,” he says. Verstappen for the cited source.

He thinks Fernando Alonso is better than Lewis Hamilton

Continuing the discussion, Max turns to an important chapter in the recent history of Formula 1: the rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.

The Dutchman believes that the Iberian has an overall advantage over the Briton and has the courage to say so, even though it will attract a lot of criticism.

“I like to think that having additional skills is a big advantage in Formula 1. You can’t train things like that. Only some pilots have this virtue.

In my opinion, Fernando Alonso has such a gift, that’s for sure. This is evident in the way he sees the small details in the cockpit. As he pushes his car to the limit, he has other things on his mind.

Fernando excels in this aspect more than Hamilton. Some people will hate me for this, but that’s the way I see things” – Max Verstappen.

After seven rounds of the 2023 Formula 1 season, Verstappen leads the standings with 170 points.

The Dutchman is followed by RedBull teammate Sergio Perez with 117 points, Fernando Alonso (99 points – Aston Martin) and Lewis Hamilton (87 points – Mercedes).

At the age of 41 (he will be 42 on July 29), Fernando Alonso has won two world championship titles in his career: 2005 and 2006 with Renault.

Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, is 38 years old and has won the Formula 1 World Championship seven times (equal to record holder Michael Schumacher). We are talking about seasons (2008 – with McLaren, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 – with Mercedes).
