FCSB also failed to win the title this season, but the transfer of Andrea Compagno proved to be very beneficial for the team coached by Elias Charalambous. The Italian forward, put up for sale by Gigi Becali, has learned where he will play next season.

Andrea Compagno remains at FCSB

With 20 goals in the previous season, Andrea Compagno was the second top scorer in the Super League behind Marko Dugandzic (Rapid Bucharest, 22 goals).

Bought for €1.5 million from FC Craiova 1948, Compagno could leave FCSB this summer after the club received an offer and demanded at least €2.5 million in return.

As the two sides failed to reach an agreement, Gigi Becali, the team’s financier, announced that Andrea Compagno will remain at FCSB from next season.

“Company remains, it was work, negotiations, but no… No, it didn’t work out.” – Gigi Bekali reported, reports Digi Sport.

Even if Andrea Compagno stays, FCSB still want to sign at least one more forward. The first on the list of the red and blue was Arnold Garita, who remained free from the contract after parting with FC “Argeş”, but the salary demanded from him was considered too high by the management of the vice-champion of Romania.

Another option FCSB are looking at is Mamadou Thiam, the Cluj University player who is currently valued at €600,000 according to Transfermarkt.
