As the team meeting for the new season will take place next week, the club management is in a hurry to appoint a new coach.

Transylvania have already started negotiations with Italian Cristiano Bergodi, who is out of contract with Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe.

If the negotiations do not reach a common denominator, another Italian may end up in Gruia – Andrea Mandorlini.

The president of CFR Cluj, Christy Balaj, acknowledged the talks with Bergodi, but refused to talk about Madorlini.

“From today we started working intensively. I asked questions but no contract offer was sent while I had Petrescu under contract. That would be disrespectful.

“If Petrescu left, would you agree to discuss possible cooperation?” Some answered “no”, others – “yes”. One of them is Berghodi. It doesn’t matter what he said, as of today we are looking for a coach, we have several options.

I didn’t start with Bergodi. There were many coaches who were transferred to CFR Cluj, the nicest was Mr. Boloni, I really didn’t talk to him. That’s not to say the names in the press aren’t valuable, they all are.

I cannot speak about the second. I don’t argue (not about Mandorlini), I don’t call names and I don’t want to go in the wrong direction” Christy Balay announcedreports DigiSport.

Both coaches also coached Cluj: Cristiano Bergodi in 2006-2007 and Andrea Madorlini from November 2009 to September 2010.
