Emma Redukana will no longer be trained by Sebastian Sachs, and the German explained why the collaboration between them ended after only six months.

Sebastian Sachs and parting with Emma Raducanu: “Difficult situations led to difficult conversations”

Saks is the fifth coach with whom Emma Reducanu has parted ways in the last 25 months, after Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson, Torben Beltz and Dmytro Tursunov (the Russian has said he has stopped working).

Tursunov warned about some “alarm signals”, and Sachs clarified that he broke up with Redukan due to “difficult situations” (perhaps it is about Emma’s injuries, but the German did not provide details).

“Of course it’s a shame because I like Emma and we worked really well together on the pitch. But unfortunately difficult situations led to difficult conversations and we eventually came to this decision.

Last year, Sachs led Belinda Bencic to Olympic gold in Tokyo. He also worked with Victoria Azarenka (former world number one).

Emma Reducanu wants to return to the field at the 2023 US Open

In the 2023 season, Emma Reducanu played only 10 matches: 5 wins and 5 losses. She collected $237,627 in tennis prizes, her results this year did not live up to expectations.

Afterwards, Emma had all kinds of problems on the tennis court, playing with blisters on her hands and feet, complaining of back and stomach pain, claiming to have lost her toenails, and spraining her ankle in Auckland.

Missing Roland Garros 2023 after several surgeries (hand and ankle), Reducanu is likely to miss Wimbledon as well. The British woman will try to return in time to participate in the US Open, which she won in 2021.
