Disappointed to miss out on another Super League title, this time to Farul Konstanz, the FCSB players also suffered a heavy loss to Rapida.

Boss Gigi Bekali, who is used to making statements after his team’s games, reacted only on Monday and announced the first measure within the club – the extension of the contract of the head coach, the Cypriot Elias Haralambous.

“I agreed with Haralambous on the extension of the contract. He accepted the new salary, and the guy signed it. I was upset during the day after the blowout loss to Rapid, but such is life. There is nothing we can do now. You say that I wasn’t even on the field with Rapid, but only our fans were in the stands.

The team was psychologically traumatized after the lesson learned from Hagi and Farul. And that’s a football lesson we should never forget. Hagi once again proved that he knows a lot, but a lot of football. He was the only one who could bring us back from 0:2,” Gigi Bekali told Prosport.

FCSB finished the championship in second place, seven points behind champions Farul, and will represent Romania in the Conference League preliminary tournament.
