The organizers of Roland Garros have announced the schedule for Tuesday, May 30, and Sorana Kirstea will make her debut on Paris soil against the Italian Jasmine Paolini.

The match between Kirstea and Paolini will be the third on court 13 and will start around 16:00 (Romanian time).

The first fights in this arena will be Nicolas Jarry – Hugo Dellien and Linda Noskova – Danka Kovinich.

Know:

• Sorana and Jasmin have only met once on the WTA, with the Italian winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Portorož tournament (category 250). Then Paolini won a competition in Slovenia (professional title only).

• The winner of the match between Kirstea and Paolini will play in the second round against the winner of the match between Olga Danylovych (105 WTA, out of qualification) and Kateryna Beindl (83 WTA).

• Romania at Roland Garros is also represented by Iryna Begu (against Sara Errani / second round). Ana Bohdan was eliminated in the inaugural round.

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
