Simona Halep has a never-ending “match” with the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency), an institution that has just postponed a doping hearing for the third time. Under these conditions, the organizers of Wimbledon did not include Halep in the preliminary list of athletes who will participate in this year’s edition.

Simona Halep did not make the list of Wimbledon-2023 participants and will miss the tournament at the All England Club
On the official website of the Grand Slam, the organizers of Wimbledon announced the list of participants of this year’s tournament (July 3-16), Simona is not in it.
Involved in the doping scandal, Simona received a new (third) postponement of the hearing, which means that she cannot be admitted to any tennis competition.
Simona has only one chance (admittedly, a very small one) to play this year at Wimbledon: to cancel her temporary disqualification for doping (her case will be considered somehow in the next period) and get a wild card from the British.
Halep won Wimbledon in 2019, beating Serena Williams in the grand final.
The ITIA wants both cases involving Simona Halep to be heard at the same time
According to Express.co.uk, the ITIA said it had postponed the trial scheduled for May 28 because it wanted both cases to be heard on the same day.
I proposed that both charges be dealt with at the same hearing to avoid repeated hearings. For this to happen, we want all parties involved, including the Tribunal, to have sufficient time to process the large amount of evidence in this case.
Ultimately, the decision rests with the court. Simona Halep will also have the opportunity to present her arguments before the Tribunal.” ITIA claims.

The ITIA says a doping review can take up to a year
In a statement on its official website, the ITIA (not the International Tennis Integrity Agency) outlined the steps it takes in the case of an athlete who tests positive, such as Simona Halep’s: Test/samples sent to lab/analytics. results reported / results analyzed / contact with player / suspension / athlete’s charge / player’s response / player fully admits / player only partially admits / decision and sanction / player objects / court / tribunal decision and sanction / appeal.
- The news that Simona Halep was temporarily suspended for doping appeared on Friday, October 21, 2022.
