Radu Nice won the gold medal for Romania in the individual saber event at the European U23 Fencing Championships in Budapest.
In the grand final, he defeated Alexandra Zmau with a score of 15-13, to whom the silver medal returned.
Bronze went to Santiago Madrigal, who was defeated by Zmau 15-10 in the semifinals, and Gergo Horvath, who was defeated by Nice 15-12 in the penultimate act.
Matej Sidu, whom Horvath defeated in the quarters with a score of 15-13, took the 6th place. Raresh Aylinka took 32nd place.
Anka Seveanu finished 10th in the women’s rapier event, while Andrea Dinka stopped in the round of 16.
