Boris Becker defends Simona Halep and urges her to fight for the truth
In a post on Instagram, Halep accused the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) of hypocrisy after the agency asked for a third postponement of her doping case (the hearing was supposed to take place on May 28).
Shortly after Simona’s statements, Boris Bekker came to the athlete’s defense, urging her to continue fighting for her cause.
“Stay strong and loyal! The truth will come out. Sincerely,” said the former leader of the ATP hierarchy.
On January 28, 1991, at the age of 55, Boris Becker became the world number one. He earned $25,080,956 in tennis prizes alone, and won six Grand Slam titles in his career: the Australian Open (1991, 1996), Wimbledon (1985, 1986, 1989) and the US Open (1989).
Coach Patrik Muratoglu’s reaction quickly appeared in the comments section after Simona Halep’s post: “Double game politics. A game I’ve been playing since day one (no ITIA reference).”
