Milan – Sampdoria 5-1, 36th round of Serie A

Stefano Pioli’s side appear to have quickly got over the shock of being knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by rivals Inter Milan.

Rafa Leao opened the scoring after just 9 minutes, but Sampdoria equalized in the 20th minute through Quagliarella.

Striker Olivier Giroud scored a double even before the break, in the 23rd and 29th minutes from 11 meters, and the emotions of the “devils” dissipated.

In the second half, Milan scored twice more in just five minutes, first by Brahim Diaz in the 63rd minute, and Giroud scored a hat trick in the 68th minute.

With the win, Milan cemented their fifth position in Serie A and are hoping for a Champions League spot with two matches left in the season.
