OJB Sport reports that Mutu is the favorite to replace Jose Peseiro (another former Rapid coach) as Nigeria coach.
The quoted source claims that Peseiro (who has recorded 4 wins and 7 losses) is out of contract in June and the Nigerian FA is looking for a coach to qualify the national team for the African Cup of Nations.
“Representatives of Adrian Mutu are already in Nigeria and trying to negotiate with the Federation. A senior official said on condition of anonymity that there are 6 names on the shortlist and Adrian Mutu is considered a priority,” OJB Sport.
The information from Nigeria appeared literally a day after the financier of “Rapid” Victor Angelescu assured that Adrian Mutu will remain on the bench of Julesti.
