>> VIDEO Destructive flood in Italy: five people died, several are considered missing

The Grand Prix at the Imola racetrack was supposed to take place on the weekend of May 19-21, 2023.

Five people have died and thousands of residents have been evacuated from their homes after devastating floods hit the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna.

Disasters related to weather phenomena have become more frequent in Italy. The torrential rains that hit the Emilia-Romagna region followed weeks of drought that dried out the soil, reducing its ability to absorb water and exacerbating the effects of flooding.
