CFR Cluj no longer has even a mathematical chance of the title, next season’s presence in the European Cups remains in doubt, and coach Dan Petrescu may leave the team after the next two games.
Marius Šumudike, who was wanted in the summer at CFR Cluj
Šumudika has just beaten Cosmin Kontra 5-0 in the Al Raed v Damak match and is declaring that a return to the Super League is out of the question.
When asked by journalist Dan Filoti about the interest of CFR Cluj representatives, where boss Nelutu Varga would like him instead of Dan Petrescu, Šumudike acknowledged the discussions.
“You heard right, yes, but it is not about my return to Romanian football. I remained on good terms with Nelutsu, even though the door was closed for me to no longer go to training.
I even sent him a few messages the other day, I talked to him, I told him what I think,” Marius Šumudike told DigiSport.
After almost a year on the bench at Al-Raed in Saudi Arabia, Šumudike was also on the bench at CFR Cluj for a short spell in 2021 when he was kicked out in scandal despite the team being unbeaten in the Superliga.
