Iga Svyatek continues his great streak from Rome, the world leader, reaching the 1/8 finals of the “WTA 1000” tournament, beating Ukraine’s Lesya Tsurenko.

Iga Svyatek beat Lesya Tsurenko 6-2, 6-0

Having beaten Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-0 in the previous round with a double, the athlete from Poland also beat Tsurenko (68 WTA) without emotion.

Lesya started the match excellently and took the upper hand even in the rematch (2-0), but the leader of the world hierarchy won 12 games in a row: 6-2, 6-0.

The match on the central field of the Foro Italico lasted an hour and 16 minutes.

Iga Sviatek will fight for a place in the quarters with the winner of the match between Croatian Donna Vekic (24 WTA) and Russian Lyudmila Samsonova (16 WTA).

WTA Rome takes place from May 9 to 20 on the clay in the Foro Italico complex. His total prize money is $3,572,618 and is in the “WTA 1000” category. Iga Svyatek became the champion of the last two competitions. In Romania, the matches of the women’s table can be watched live on Digisport.
