Ana Bohdan advanced to the second round (competition of the WTA 1000 category) in Rome on Wednesday, defeating the Japanese Nao Hibino (ranked 118th in the world) in two sets.

Our athlete led in the first set 3-0 and 4-1, but the qualifier returned and managed to take the set into overtime.

However, Ana Bohdan (59 WTA) won eight games in a row, who won after an hour and 20 minutes of play with a score of 7-5, 6-0.

  • In the next round, Bohdan will meet with Caroline Garcia (favourite 5).
  • By qualifying for the second round, Ana secured a prize of €12,652 and 35 points in the WTA ranking.
