Starting from 9th place in the race, Max Verstappen again showed that he is in a different league of competition as the reigning world champion won the US Formula 1 Grand Prix. RedBull made a double at the Miami Street circuit (Sergio Perez was second), and veteran Fernando Alonso completed the podium.
Max Verstappen wins Miami – Lewis Hamilton 6, bad day for Ferrari
An incident in qualifying (where he was unable to complete a fast lap due to a crash caused by Charles Leclerc) seemed to derail Max Westappen’s plans.
However, this was not the case: the Dutchman started the comeback race from the first corners, and the victory on the Miami Street circuit went to him after he overtook team-mate Sergio Perez in the final part of the Grand Prix (with ten laps to go) (started from pole -positions).
In qualifying, Lewis Hamilton made up for lost time and finished the race in Miami in sixth place.
Unfortunately for Scuderia Ferrari fans (and there are so many around the world), the Italian manufacturer’s drivers finished the race in Miami in 5th (Carlos Sainz Jr.) and 7th (Charles Leclerc) respectively.
It was a nightmare weekend for McLaren, with Lando Norris 17th and Oscar Piastre 19th, penultimate.
