After qualifying for the Romanian Cup final last week, Cluj University lost dramatically at home to FC Voluntari (2-3). Ioan Ovidiu Sabau’s team played more than one half in numerical invincibility.

The University of Cluj lost the chance to play 3 matches in a row without failures in the Superliga play-out. Transylvania lost to FC Voluntari 3-2.

Yoan Ovidiu Sabau’s side made a terrible start to the match at the Cluj Arena, with Florin Illier subbed out after just 17 minutes.

A minute later, Ilfoven opened the scoring for Runar Mar Sigurjonsson.

Outnumbered, the “red caps” changed the result before the break, managing to score twice through Remakl (min. 23) and Mamadou Thiam (min. 41).

The second half was dominated by the wards of Liviu Chobotariu, who missed great chances to restore parity. Finally, Daniel Florea scored 2:2 in the 87th minute of the game. The same Florea scored against the guests and brought victory in the 90th + 2nd minute.
