The former coach of the University of Craiova was found guilty of inappropriate behavior

Former Craiova University coach Davies Mangia took charge of the Malta national football team at the end of 2019.

In September 2022, Davis Mangia found himself at the center of a sexual harassment scandal, accused by two players.

The Malta Football Association suspended him and opened an investigation against him, while Mangia in turn launched a lawsuit against two footballers, claiming that his image had been tarnished.

The Malta Federation referred the matter to a specialist who was to draw up a report based on the information and allegations between the two parties.

According to Maltese media, Davis Mangia was found not guilty of sexual harassmenton the grounds that there was insufficient evidence in this situation.

“The committee did not find sufficient evidence to support allegations of sexual harassment. however, the commission found sufficient evidence to support the allegation of misconduct“, – said in the official press release of the Maltese Federation.

In order to be able to train again, Davis Mangia will have to enroll in a professional restrictions course that lasts approximately 6 months.

Davis Mangia’s contract ran until the end of 2023.
