Rafael Nadal has been absent from the world circuit for several months and his return has been delayed even though the clay season (the Iberian’s favourite) is in full swing. Tony (Rafa’s uncle and former coach) reports on the health of the former ATP leader, but also sounds the alarm about participation in Roland Garros.

Rafael Nadal will not be ready for Roland Garros, says Uncle Tony

He was unable to participate in Monte Carlo, Barcelona (such expensive tournaments for him), and recently refused Madrid. However, Rafael Nadal is close to returning to the court if Toni Nadal is to be believed.

Quoted by puntodebreak.com, the uncle of the former ATP leader is sounding the alarm about Rafa’s participation on the Paris soil.

As such, Toni says Nadal has no chance of reaching Paris in shape, regardless of the training he has had during this period.

There is no substitute for the pace set by official matches, and as a result, Nadal will only play a few matches on Chatriere (depending on how much and how he plays at the Rome Masters).

“We shouldn’t be under any illusions,” says Toni, referring to Rafa’s form as he returns to the pitch.

Meanwhile, the great champion’s uncle from Manacor also brings good news for Rafa fans.

Toni says if Nadal survives the first week in Paris, he will definitely be a different player. However, according to Toni Nadal, it also requires a good draw to get the lowest-ranked players in the way.

“Rafa only becomes a favorite in the second week,” warns Toni Nadal.

Rafa’s former coach also has an addition about the ATP circuit. The Iberian says Carlos Alcaraz is the best player in the world at the moment.

“He’s got it all: he’s the fastest, he’s brilliant on the court, he’s a good serve, his backhand is great, he’s got adorable shorts too. As long as he doesn’t get injured, he will be there for a long time (not at the top of the ATP hierarchy),” concludes Toni Nadal.

The Rome Masters (Foro Italico) will be held from May 8 to 21, while Roland Garros (the second Grand Slam of the season) will be held from May 28 to June 11.
