Ronnie O’Sullivan says he doesn’t have time to focus on one particular player
After “advising” Vafaea to retire from snooker, Ronnie hit his opponent across the table and the Englishman finished the last 16 match at the Crucible ahead of what was to be a deciding session (13-2).
In an intervention on Eurosport, O’Sullivan explains the method by which he easily evades the attacks of his opponents.
Referring exclusively to Hossein’s recent comments, the reigning world champion says he did not take the Iranian’s comments personally.
Ronnie admits that during his career there were five or six people who captured him in one way or another. He used those words to prove he still matters in the sport he made history in before the age of 47.
“It’s not that I took (Hossein Wafai’s) comments personally, probably five or six people said something about me during my career. They inspired me to prove to myself that I could still play snooker at a high level.
I play between 50 and 100 matches a year and I have to win them all. There is no point in focusing on one particular player and what he did.
I don’t tell him anything, that little black part is locked in my memory and it helped me a lot” – Ronnie O’Sullivanafter qualifying for the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championship in the Crucible.
