Draw between Jan Nepomniachy and Ding Liren at CM Chess 2023 after almost six hours of play

It was the longest match at the finals in Astana (from the St. Regis Hotel) and the tied tie keeps Yen leading 5-4.

It was a marathon match with 82 moves.

The game could have ended much earlier if Nepomniachy had agreed to a draw after the 50th move of the match.

Saturday, April 22, will be a day off, and the final will continue on Sunday with the tenth match.

As a reminder, the big winner will be determined by the “best of 14 matches” system.

The winner of the world championship will be crowned in Bucharest in May to participate in the Superbet Chess Classic Romania 2023, the first stage of the international Grand Chess Tour.
