Victor Nunweiler died at the age of 81

”NUNWEILER V, as he was called in the history of our football, was born on May 13, 1942. He worked as a goalkeeper for Dynamo, Victoria, Dynamo Obor and Cluj University.

Konstantin, Dumitru, Ion, Lika, Viktor, Radu and Eduard. All NUNWEILLER or, in other words, a family that wrote an important page in the history of our club and Romanian football.

Of the seven brothers, five – Dumitru, Ion, Like, Viktor and Radu – wore the T-shirt of the “red dogs” – the nickname of the Dynamo players – a legacy left by the NUNWEILER family.

Only Radu NUNWEILER is alive today. Sincere condolences to the family!”, the press release of the Dynamo Bucharest club says.

The Nunweiler brothers and the nickname “Red Dogs”

“I first said ‘red dogs’ to the Nunweiler brothers. Lika was the first thing that caught my eye because it was red. Then I also saw Nelya, who was not red, but he ran until he gave up his soul, and his face was not red. I said to them on the corner: “Look at the red dogs!” so it remained. He took over our gallery, then theirs” – Dumitriou’s nightex-forward Rapid, quoted by GSP.
